Graduated in Commercial Sciences from Lebanon, Mr. Soueid has been in the Gulf region since
1977 starting from Saudi Arabia. He has been with the diplomatic missions as Commercial Officer
since 1985 with the Australian Trade Commissioner Services (Austrade) in Saudi Arabia. He joined
the Canadian Embassy in Saudi Arabia in 1991 as Commercial Officer and served till 1996 when he
moved to the Consulate of Canada in Dubai in the capacity of Trade Commissioner.
Acquiring knowledge in the Gulf Mr. Soueid has been instrumental in bringing to Saudi Arabia and
UAE many products and services accounting for millions of dollars. Major achievements were in bringing, to mention
few, Kraft Cheese, and lupin seeds from Australia, promoting the canola oil in the Gulf, the ice rink to Dubai Mall,
the management of the Trauma Centre in Dubai, promoting the IMAX in Ibn Battuta Mall, facilitating agencies for
Second Cup (Canadian coffee shop franchising), Eau Canada (Water treatment), Jamieson Laboratories(Canadian
Pharmaceutical), and many others.
Mr. Soueid organized many incoming and outgoing private and official trade missions. Also organized national pavilions
in numerous important exhibitions namely Saudi Food, Saudi Health, Saudi Ag, Index , Gitex , Idex and Arab Health
in UAE, and led delegations to international exhibitions abroad such as SIAL (France), Medica and CeBIT, (Germany),
CommunicAsia (Singapore), 3GSM (Spain), Agribition (Canada), etc.
Mr. Soueid is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
